Self-Harm and Crisis Guidelines

Intervals is a private discussion space, but it is not an emergency service.

If you may hurt yourself, may hurt someone else, or feel like you cannot stay safe, do not post here waiting for a reply. Call or text 988, use 988 chat, or call emergency services now.

Intervals is not monitored 24/7. Other members are not trained crisis responders. Reporting a post helps us review it, but it does not replace immediate help.

If there is immediate physical danger, call emergency services.

If you see a concerning post

If someone appears to be in immediate danger, contact emergency services. You can also report the post inside Intervals so it can be reviewed. Do not try to manage a crisis alone in a comment thread.

What not to post

  • Methods or instructions for self-harm
  • Encouragement of self-harm
  • Graphic details
  • Content asking strangers to respond as emergency support

What is okay to post

  • Saying you are having a hard day
  • Asking for perspective
  • Talking about pressure, loneliness, grief, or burnout
  • Asking how other men got through a difficult season
